Curriculum

The way we develop our Curriculum is influenced by several principles adopted from the Reggio Emilia approach that take a holistic view of the child and their learning. With these principles as the foundation of our curriculum, we then plan, observe and evaluate the children’s daily experiences.

This method of developing experiences based on the children’s current interest is called an ‘emergent curriculum’. It is constantly evolving and changing direction based on the individual children’s needs and interests. While the curriculum is emergent, the outcomes we are looking for underneath it are not. They are based on the Early Years Learning Framework, a set of developmental outcomes focusing on the child as a Communicator, Learner, their Identity, World, and Wellbeing.
